Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” Or Something Else?

As usual, a very interesting performance by Lady GaGa at tonight’s GRAMMY Awards. Plenty of visuals and choreography, but I can’t be the only one that was thinking I was listening to a familiar song from the past, can I?
While it’s true that many parts of songs sound similar to other songs, Lady GaGa’s new single “Born This Way” sounds to me a lot like Madonna‘s “Express Yourself”. Sometimes this can lead to a copyright lawsuit, but most of the time it simply draws a fleeting comparison, much like I’m doing here.
There’s no denying GaGa’s star power… she’s one of the top artists in the world right now, but many have already called her this generation’s Madonna. And that was before this song. If you watched the performance on tonight’s GRAMMY Awards, what did you think?

I like Lady Gaga’s songs and I think deep down she is a much better person than Madonna–time will tell. At least she’s not dippy like the infamous “actress” who can’t stay out of rehab or the new druggie Mylie Syrus. Gaga has talent and staying power. You’ll see!
