Recipient of the GRAMMY for Best New Artist, Esperanza Spalding, makes a sensational appearance this morning on “The View”.

As the first jazz musician to win a Best New Artist GRAMMY, this talented jazz bassist and singer has opened doors for musicians in her genre. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Spalding learned the violin, oboe, clarinet and guitar before finding her true passion, the bass. She was inspired by famous cellist Yo Yo Ma when she was only four years old and is now musically influenced by jazz bassists, Ron Carter and Dave Holland. The combination of the whimsical, yet strong instrumentals and her chirpy singing voice can’t help but put you in a good, light-hearted mood!

Watch Esperanza Spalding’s performance of the track “Winter Sun” from her album “Chamber Music Society”. You won’t be disappointed!
