The ‘Gold Rush Days’ Are Back

Old Sacramento is getting makeover this weekend, calling out to the old days when the spirit of the West roam free across the pierre: Its ‘Gold Rush Days’ in old Sacramento.
According to Old Sacramento’s website, over 200 ton of dirt have been spread over the streets of Old Sacramento for the annual ‘Gold Rush Days’ festival. This historic event will bring the 1840-50s Sacramento back to life to celebrate the time that build the city and California in general. There will be costumes, musicians playing period instruments, horses, prospectors, old-time blacksmiths, period artifacts, storytelling, food preparation, cowboys, cowgirls, and people of true grit! The spirit of the old west is alive and well in Old Sacramento. This is going to be a fun time for the whole family. Every boy & girl attends this event is going to have a look of bewilderment when they see the olden days unfold upon their eyes. Plus, who doesn’t cowboys!?!
The festival begins Today, 9/2/2011, and ends Labor Day Monday, 9/5/2011. admission is free, times of the event is below.
- Friday, Sept. 2, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 4, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 5, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
