It’s National Margarita Day! Cheers!

So here’s the question…why are we working today? It’s a national holiday!
How can you not be in a good mood on Margarita Day? It’s a party just waiting to happen!
The margarita has been around since the 1930′s. It was first mixed up in a bar in Mexico City, or Tijuana, or at a private party in Dallas, or somewhere else – depending who you talk to.
It didn’t take long for the margarita to claim the top spot at the bar of every Mexican restaurant in the country – as well it should be. I can’t think of anything that goes better with chips and guacamole than an ice-cold margarita. Can you?
Bartenders have tinkered with the original recipe of tequila, triple sec and lime juice by adding everything from peaches to strawberries to chili peppers. One friend even loves to whip up beer margaritas for our moms-night-out celebrations. It’s better than it sounds.
While the traditional frozen concoction is served blended, I prefer my margarita on the rocks with salt. The preferred setting for sipping my drink is on a beach with warm sand between my toes. Cozumel is a good start, but a shaded hammock in my backyard has ”perfect afternoon” written all over it.
Another way to celebrate National Margarita Day is by listening to some Jimmy Buffet — who just so happens to be making a tour stop with his Coral Reefer Band at the HP Pavilion March 8th
Cheers!
